Online DAG Media Page
Online Disability Advisory Group Media
I would like to form an online media group to sit in and report on council disability advisory groups, working as online media we could take notes of the discussions between Council and disabled community and publish these on Facebook and other social media
I will be contacting my local Council WDC to ask to sit in on these meetings as an online media reporter. I do not think they will like the idea, so others should follow my lead and apply to be online disability advisory media using facebooks Disability Advisory Group Page Here
We the disabled community in New Zealand face a range of difficulties not faced by the average person or their families. Councils have established disability advisory groups.
These groups are formed to advise councils on the concerns disabled people may have, these groups need to be active groups actively advocating for disabled people
I am one of the disabled people, I believe the disabled have a lot to contribute to council planning. It is really difficult for the average normal person with a disability to get heard.
This website Disability Advisory Group ORG and accompanying social media platform is designed to connect councils with the disabled community. I need people to join me and speak about how your council can help.
Online Media Group
I think we need an online media group to keep the Councils honest, some councils are not playing by the rules, so when I publish my first media post, Information that would normally be kept behind closed doors will be revealed, but it will be frankly honest.
Purpose
The purpose of the Online DAG is to provide a forum for people with disabilities to participate in the planning of Council services, projects, and activities in order to ensure that the needs of the wider disability community are taken into account.
This is the Media Page
On this page, I will be reporting on issues I think are important for the disabled community. I would invite others from around New Zealand to email articles to me and we can become the disability advisory people-powered media.
